ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Matt Beauchamp – a stay-at-home dad who is working to master the art of parenting with my two awesome kids. Despite wrestling with ADHD, depression, and diabetes, I strive to be the epitome of authenticity. Armed with a journalism diploma, I'm not just a wordsmith – I'm the ghostwriter behind many articles you’ve probably read and speeches you’ve probably heard. When I’m not writing, you'll find me jamming on my guitar and drums or engaged in my community where I work supporting individuals, helping promote small businesses, and fostering connections wherever I am.

Cough & Cold season is here! 🌧️💧 I headed to my local @shoppersdrugmart to speak with a pharmacist about what products they recommend to help my family and me recover. I really value their expert advice, helping me navigate which products can help to alleviate and ease our symptoms. Shoppers Drug Mart is my convenient, one-stop shop for all things cough and cold when sickness hits the household.

When the incoming administration in the states has me worried or just *vaguely gestures at everything* this is how I blow off steam. What’s your go to method to get the rage out?

Anyone with ADHD and/or small children I’m sure can relate but the real win came when I started to just assume I would forget things. This way I don’t hate myself when I do and I’m pleasantly surprised when I don’t! Share with the forgetful person in your life!

I’m still not really sure what this means other than the clear opinion they think spending time with your kids and looking after your kids is “women’s” work.

And yes this whole series are actual things people have said to me as a stay at home Dad.

A busy finish to 2024. Things I try to remember, spend time with the people you love, practice gratitude, speak up for what you believe in, rest when you need to. Here’s to 2025, it’ll be what we make it ❤️.

Whether you take down Christmas first thing Boxing Day morning or you keep it up till July, if it feels good do it. Personally the lights and the warm glow give me comfort and I love it.

Being sick as a parent is the absolute worst, because as we all know, parents can’t take sick days! Thankfully there’s always a Shoppers Drug Mart close by so that we can easily pick up what we need to help get our life back on track.

One of the worst things about diabetes is that it’s 24/7/ 365 days a year. The amount of mental load diabetics carry everyday is exhausting. Today would be a great day to let the diabetic in your life know that you see their mental load and offer them a hug.

It’s been said before, but for the people in the back, Dads don’t babysit their kids, they parent!

#AD Sharing toys that were my childhood favourite like @HotWheelsofficial has made us the most popular house on the block with the neighbourhood kids!

The Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage has been a ton of fun since we got it and there’s still time to grab one for the holidays with the link in my bio!

Calgary has a new semi-private Nordic spa @clearnordicspa and I got to check it out. Uniquely it is a silent spa, with a separate social space and zen room for conversation. There’s three different types of sauna’s, a hot tub, a cold plunge pool, showers and meditation spaces. You can even send yourself a postcard!

This would make a great gift for the holidays!

November was a good month. We’re all ready for some holiday magic this December.

As a stay-at-home dad, I’ve seen firsthand how masculinity isn’t about fitting into a narrative or meeting outdated expectations. It’s about showing up—for our kids, our partners, and ourselves.

Let’s redefine the narrative:
✅ Masculinity isn’t about hiding emotions; it’s about embracing emotional intelligence
✅ Strength isn’t measured by silence; it’s measured by having the courage to ask for help when we need it
✅ Being a man doesn’t mean “toughening up,” it means being a safe place for people we love
