You know you're a parent when the sight of rubber boots and muddy buddies by the door means it's officially “spring.” Not the calendar kind of spring — the real one, where snowbanks melt into puddles and every backyard turns into a mud lab.
This time of year, our walks get slower (because someone has to jump in every puddle and grab every rock and stick), but our days start to stretch longer. The kids want to be outside more, and even though I’m constantly reminding them not to bring the mud in with them, I secretly love this in-between season. It’s messy and unpredictable — just like parenting.
Things we’ve been loving lately:
Pokemon Go walks (we're deep in our pokemon era over here lol)
Nature scavenger hunts (pro tip: the reward at the end is always a freezy).
Evening bike rides with that perfect sunsets.
Spring is a chance to exhale after the long, dark winter. And even if it means more laundry, more mud, and more wiping down kids, I’ll take it.
